Last Thursday, at precisely 2:46 PM, the ordinary became
extraordinary. A humbling experience took place that forever altered my
perception of self, surroundings, and the vast universe we inhabit. I tapped
into something I believe we all have access to: pure consciousness.
From Mundane to the Magical
It started like any other day — the routine was in full
swing. Emails pinged. Traffic outside buzzed. My mind was a whirlwind of tasks
and concerns. But in the midst of all the noise, there was a fleeting moment of
stillness. I decided to pause and meditate.
I've always read about spiritual awakenings and thought they
were reserved for the ascetics, the monks, or the exceptionally pious. But on
this day, nestled between a Zoom call and my third cup of coffee, I had my own
brush with the profound.
The Fall Away
As I closed my eyes, something felt different. Layers of my
identity began peeling away. My career, family roles, accomplishments,
anxieties – they felt like costumes I'd been wearing. Underneath it all, there
was only an expanse, an ever-present, non-judgmental awareness. I felt both
incredibly small and immeasurably vast. Time seemed both stretched infinitely
and condensed into a single dot.
Pure Consciousness
In this space, there were no barriers between 'me' and the
universe. The age-old questions – Who am I? Why am I here? – melted away,
replaced by the profound realization that I was pure consciousness. And
consciousness wasn't confined to the boundaries of my physical body; it was the
very fabric of everything.
It's hard to describe, but imagine being a drop of water,
and suddenly realizing you're not just the drop, but the entire ocean. That's
what realizing pure consciousness felt like. I was no longer an observer; I was
everything and nothing, all at once.
The Return
Slowly, as I opened my eyes, the noises, colors, and
textures of the world came rushing back. But they felt different. There was a
newfound clarity. The traffic outside wasn’t just noise; it was a symphony of
life, each vehicle a story, each honk an expression. The simple act of
breathing felt like a gift.
The Message
Now, I share this not as a boast or a claim to any spiritual
title. Rather, I share to remind each one of you that we are more than our
jobs, our problems, or our aspirations. Beneath it all, we are pure,
unadulterated consciousness, interconnected in ways we can't even begin to
fathom.
I urge you to take a moment today. Stop. Breathe. Peel back
those layers. You never know, you might just discover that you're not just a
drop in the ocean, but the entire ocean in a drop.
Did this story resonate with you? If it did, consider
sharing. You never know who might need a reminder of their infinite potential.
